Peter is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) with the Tax Institute of Australia and a registered Tax Agent with the Australian Taxation Office.
Peter started his professional life as a legal aid for a local solicitor and accounting practice in Maitland. When the practice divided into its respective professions, he decided to pursue accounting. Peter enjoyed the challenge so much that he decided to follow that course.
He became a partner in an accounting firm in Maitland in 1981. When his partner retired in 2004 he formed his own practice as Peter J Hallett Public Accountants and secured the current office premises at 27 Elizabeth St in Maitland.
His experience in taxation and accounting on the Yorke Peninsula spans some 40 years. Specialising in BAS preparation and GST advice, Peter has an extensive knowledge of a diverse range of individual and business enterprises specialising in a rural outlook.
Peter is an active member of the local Maitland CFS, having recently received his 10 year commendation for service. He is also an active member of the Maitland Golf Club and Maitland Bowling Club, having served as past President of the latter for many years.
Tim is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).
Tim and Peter have enjoyed a long business association in the Maitland area. Tim was employed by Peter’s previous accountancy partnership and transferred into his new practice in 2004 and continues to attend to his clients by appointment.
He has 19 years of experience in taxation and accounting relating to all business entities, and is an experienced user of MYOB, Pheonix & Cashflow Manager software applications for BAS preparation and assistance with data entry.
Tim owns and runs his own farming property near Maitland, and balances this with his accounting commitments and a busy family life.
His extensive first-hand knowledge of primary production enables him to converse with his clients on a personal level and advise them in all rural matters whilst also providing BAS & farm software advice.
Tim is actively involved in the local community. He is currently coaching the junior colts team of the Cougars Football Club.
Anne is our Bookkeeper and data processor, preparing Income Tax Returns and BAS forms.
She has more than 30 years of experience in taxation and accounting, having commenced work in the profession in 1981 at Peter’s previous accountancy partnership.

She has had experience in quality control and administration for more than 10 years through the local grain storage facility Grainflow and then Cargill Australia on a state level managing the quality control and administration for 4 sites.
